Arsenal are “closely following” Levante left-back Paula Tomas, according to Marca.
The Madrid-based publication claim that the Spanish international is “on the radar” of the Gunners ahead of the summer.
Tomas’s contract at Levante runs until 2025, so the Liga F side won’t allow the defender to leave unless a team is prepared “pay the player’s clause” or, at least, negotiate a suitable transfer fee.
The 21-year-old came through the ranks at Levante before making her first-team debut back in 2020. She is an attack-minded fullback, having made five assists in 25 league appearances this season.
If Tomas does end up moving to Arsenal, she will provide competition for Katie McCabe on the left flank. Manager Jonas Eidevall has rotated between four and three at the back this campaign so having another player capable of playing as a wingback would be helpful.
Fans could see Tomas in action for her country at the World Cup. She received her first two caps for Spain in friendlies against Jamaica and the Czech Republic back in February so the defender will be in contention for Jorge Vilda’s squad.
