Arsenal Ace Is “Hungry For More” Silverware After Frank Admission About Career So Far

Arsenal forward Caitlin Foord has admitted that she is not satisfied with the amount of trophies she has won in her career.

Since moving to the Gunners in January 2020, the Australian international has only won the Conti Cup and, speaking to Optus Sport, she expressed hope that she can lift more silverware for both club and country in the future:

“There’s been a lot to learn from [in my career] and a lot gained as well but I don’t have much in my trophy cabinet to show for it. I have a Conti Cup, but that’s about it.”

“I guess it makes me hungry for more and at Arsenal to win the league and to do well in the FA Cup and again keep the Conti Cup, qualify for the Champions League, and then next year we have the Olympics as well. So I hope this year is a stepping stone in the right direction for next year.”

Arsenal have a crucial game coming up against the league leaders

If Foord is to get a WSL winners medal this season, the Gunners will have to chase down Chelsea at the top of the table. The Blues are currently ahead of their London rivals but that gap could be closed when the two sides face each other on Sunday.

Jonas Eidevall’s team could go level on points with the reigning champions if they secure victory at the Emirates.

A record crowd is expected this weekend

Arsenal announced on Monday that over 55,000 tickets have been sold for the match against Chelsea, which will make it the highest-ever attendance for a Women’s Super League fixture.

That should give Foord and her teammates an even greater incentive to grab a vital win.
