Nominees for WSL Goal of the Month award for April
Arsenal fullback, Katie McCabe faced stiff competition from fellow nominees in Manchester City’s Chloe Kelly, Leicester’s Sam Tierney, Brighton trio Katie Robinson, Lee Geum-Min and Elisabeth Terland, Everton’s Nicoline Sorensen and Aston Villa’s Rachel Daly to secure the accolade.
The 27-year-old is not exactly prolific in front of goal, having scored just one other goal in the WSL this season for Arsenal, but the technique and execution to fire the ball past Ellie Roebuck into the Man City goal was more akin to a forward.

The Irish international has been one of Arsenal’s top performers over the course of the campaign, and she has stepped up in the midst of a devastating injury crisis that has seen four players sidelined with ACL injuries.
Jonas Eidevall’s team have performed exceptionally well in recent months under the circumstances as Chelsea and Manchester United set the pace in the race for the WSL title and the tight relegation battle plays out with so many teams desperate for points for many reasons.
