Bitter WSL Rivals Put Aside Their Differences In Wholesome Instagram Post

WSL rivals Beth England and Jess Carter may play for different clubs – England joined Tottneham Hotspur in the January transfer window, while Carter pays for Chelsea – but they were able to put their differences aside for a friendly game of pool.

England uploaded a picture of her, alongside Carter, on her Instagram page – with a pool table in the background. Who won, we wonder? According to comments on the post, Carter did, after England potted the black ball.

The Barnsley-born forward captioned her Instagram post with: “It wouldn’t be a mate date without a bit of pool.”

England’s post currently has over 5,000 likes on Instagram. Among those who have liked the post include Hannah Blundell, Sophie Ingle and Maya Le Tissier.

A few also left a comment on the photo – they included Katie Zelem, Maren Mjelde and Carter’s partner, Ann-Katrin Berger, who wrote: ‘Thanks for the invite 👀’.

Carter and England were Chelsea teammates until the latter joined Tottenham on January 4, 2023, for a reported record-breaking fee of £250,000. So far, she has scored four goals in five games for Spurs this season.

It was a move that shook the foundations of the league – but England hasn’t had the impact at Spurs as they may have hoped, as the North London club still remain embroiled in a relegation battle.
