Chelsea Have ‘Agreed’ To Sign PSG Star On Three Year Deal

Chelsea have “agreed a deal” to sign Paris Saint-Germain fullback Ashley Lawrence, according to the Evening Standard.

The Canadian international will join on a free transfer when the season comes to a close, with the Blues having beaten off the likes of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid to secure her signature:

Lawrence has spent the last six years at PSG, having joined the French club from Vaughan Azzurri. In her first campaign, she lost the Champions League final to rivals Lyon, before going on to win Division 1 Feminine in 2021 as well as two French Cups.

The 27-year-old is expected to put pen to paper on a three-year contract with Emma Hayes’ side and she will provide cover both in defence and midfield.

Following the announcements that captain Magda Eriksson and Pernille Harder will both be leaving, Chelsea’s squad is expected to undergo quite the overhaul this summer.

A number of other signings are likely to be made in the coming months as the Blues look to maintain their dominance of the Women’s Super League.

Chelsea Are Closing In On Another WSL Title

The Blues really just need a point versus Reading this weekend in order to secure their fourth consecutive league title.

Manchester United have an inferior goal difference, so the Red Devils’ only real chance of finishing top is if Hayes’ team lose against the Royals.
