THREE Chelsea Players Nominated For Goal Of The Season Award

Chelsea trio Erin Cuthbert, Lauren James and Sam Kerr have all been nominated for the WSL Goal of the Season prize.

Cuthbert’s outstanding shot from outside the box against Tottenham, James’s wonderful solo effort in the reverse fixture in February, and Kerr’s magnificent lob which sealed the win over Manchester United in March, would all be deserving winners of the award.

The three Blues stars will be going up against Arsenal’s Katie McCabe for her left-footed strike during the 2-1 victory against Manchester City in April, her teammate Vivianne Miedema, as well as Tottenham’s Ashleigh Neville and Reading’s Rachel Rowe.

You can vote for your favourite by heading to the website here. Fans have until 10 am on Monday to make their choice.

Cuthbert’s howitzer is likely to be among the favourites

The Scotland international’s goal against Tottenham was one of the highlights of Chelsea’s season. The way she controlled the aerial pass before unleashing an unstoppable shot past Spurs keeper Tinja-Riikka Korpela was quite something.

James’ goal was very different, with her close control allowing her to bypass a number of players before slotting the ball home, while Kerr’s composure to lift the ball over United shot-stopper Mary Earps should not be underestimated either.
