Currently, Mead’s post has over 46,000 likes on Instagram. Among those who have liked the post include Gunners teammates such as Stina Blackstenius, Kim Little and Arsenal men’s star Bukayo Saka.

As well as this, a few left a comment on Mead’s post. They included Caitlin Foord, Noelle Maritz and Leah Williamson.

Arsenal’s win over Chelsea on Sunday marks the Gunners’ first major trophy win for four years, when they won the WSL in 2019. Despite falling behind early on with a goal from Chelsea’s Sam Kerr, Arsenal were not about to let this opportunity slip through their fingers so easily.

They battled back with vigour, equalising just 14 minutes later through Blackstenius – Kim Little then added a second with a penalty, which was followed up with an own goal from Niamh Charles.

Mead herself did not play in the game, as she is currently out of action with an injury. Nonetheless, she was very proud of what her teammates had accomplished with the odds stacked against them.
