Former WSL All-Star Posts Injury Update On Instagram After Surgery

Barcelona and former WSL megastar Lucy Bronze has delivered some good news on Instagram – her knee surgery was a success. She posted a picture of herself post-operation and appears to be in good spirits.

For the post’s caption, Bronze wrote: “Successful surgery!! In very good spirits after my knee op yesterday. It’s never easy being sidelined, but I’m as focused as ever to work hard and return to full fitness, hopefully as soon as possible.

“Thank you to everyone for all of your kind messages already! I couldn’t ask for better support, so thank you. The hard work has already started. Already can’t wait to be back on the pitch with this team. See you all very soon.”

Currently, Bronze’s post has just under 100,000 likes on Instagram. Among those who have liked the post include Millie Bright, Jess Park and Maya Le Tissier.

Additionally, a few of Bronze’s contemporaries wished her well in the comments section, including Wendie Renard, Lauren James and Nikita Parris.

Bronze’s injury was sustained during the first leg of Barcelona’s Champions League tie with Chelsea – it’s unclear whether or not she will be fit to play in the 2023 World Cup, but the signs look hopeful.
