“I Don’t Really Care…” United Boss Makes Chelsea Claim As He Delivers Verdict On Title Race

Manchester United manager Marc Skinner has declared that he will only be focusing on his own team’s results despite going four points clear at the top of the Women’s Super League.

The 1-0 win against Arsenal has put a bit of daylight between the Red Devils and the chasing pack but, with Chelsea having two games in hand, Emma Hayes’ team are very much still in the hunt. Asked whether it is now a two-horse race for the title, Skinner replied:

“I don’t really care. It’s all about us doing what we can. If Chelsea win all of their games, we can’t catch that. But what we can do is progress, keep performing, keep getting better, and that’s what we’re doing. We have to fight our own battles. I’m not going to get into what Chelsea do.”

As Skinner says, United can only do what they can in their last four matches and hope for the best. At this stage of the season, it is better to have the points on the board but everyone is aware that Chelsea have it in them to go on a winning streak.

Due to the Blues’ Champions League commitments, they don’t play in the league again until May 3rd. United actually face Aston Villa before then on Friday week, so they could even stretch their lead over their title rivals to seven points.
