Chelsea fans were delighted with their team’s narrow 1-0 win over reigning champions Lyon in the first leg of their Champions League tie – but some fans were worried about Millie Bright, who picked up a knee injury.
It was a close game, where both teams created plenty of chances. However, following Guro Reiten’s spectacular curling effort, the Blues defended ferociously and prevented the French team from breaching their back line.
Chelsea have the advantage heading into the second leg – but certain Blues supporters will enter the tie pessimistically if Bright is declared unfit to play.

I can’t think of a time I’ve ever known Millie Bright to come off injured! Hopefully, it’s nothing too serious. #UWCL

Currently, Bright’s injury status is unclear. She will undergo a scan on her knee today – after this, we will learn the full extent of her knee problem.
If she is out of action for a significant period of time, it will be a massive blow to both Chelsea and the Lionesses – but the Blues have proven they can hold a lead without Bright’s help.
Can Chelsea finish the job in the second leg? They will have the home advantage – as such, the London team will likely be the favourites to proceed at this stage.
