Manchester United youngster Ella Kinzett has reportedly secured a transfer to Sheffield United, according to a report from SheKicks.
While she has played for Manchester United’s academy team, the 18-year-old has yet to make a senior appearance in the WSL at the time of writing.
Previously, Kinzett has played for Burnley in their academy – in 2022, she moved to Old Trafford, before finally settling at Sheffield United in the Championship.
She is the sixth signing that the Blades have made this season, alongside Sophie Barker, Jess Sigsworth, Isobel Goodwin, Ashley Hodson and Jodie Hutton.
Moreover, upon her move to Sheffield United, she will be reunited with Jonathan Morgan – he previously worked with Kinzett in Burnley’s academy, before taking the head coach’s role at Bramall Lane.
A technical midfield player, Kinzett has shown quick decision making and a range of passing well beyond her years in her short career so far.
What did Ella Kinzett say regarding her move to Sheffield United?
On her transfer to Sheffield United, Kinzett said: “I’m really happy to be here. It’s a great group and an ambitious club so I’m really happy. My time with Man United has massively helped me and going to Burnley with Jonno helped bridge the gap into women’s football.
“I know [Jonathan Morgan] and it’s good to connect with him again, I know what he expects of me and I hope I can hit the ground running.”
What did the Blades head coach Jonathan Morgan say on the move?
Morgan appears to be very pleased with the acquisition of Kinzett, saying: “I worked with Ella at Burnley last season and honestly she’s one of those players who I think goes under the radar.”
He added: “What I saw first was her technical ability is up there with some of the best in my opinion, she’s a delight to have around and she’s a midfielder who can play a holding role or an attacking role and she was exactly what I wanted.
“I’m looking forward to seeing how she does and how she develops in the Championship. I think she will be a hidden gem.”
