Manchester United’s FIFA Goalkeeper Of The Year Celebrates Award On Instagram

Mary Earps celebrated her FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year Award with a post on Instagram, where she thanked her fans, friends and family for their support.

In the post’s caption, Earps wrote: “Pinch me.. what an incredible couple of days! 🤯🙏🏼 Thank you so much for the lovely messages, it doesn’t go unnoticed ❤️‍🔥 (Please expect a reply within 3-5 working days 🤣).”

Earps’ post currently has just under 35,000 likes on Instagram. People who’ve liked the post include Georgia Stanway, Lauren James and Manchester United men’s goalkeeper David De Gea.

Additionally, several fans and fellow footballers left a comment on the post. Among them were Nikita Parris, a fellow Manchester United teammate and Sara Björk Gunnarsdóttir, who plays for Juventus.

Mary Earps, or ‘Mearps’ as she is affectionately called, has been sensational at both club and international level. Across England’s six games in the 2022 Women’s Euros, she let just two goals in en route to the Three Lionesses’ historic victory.

She has also been outstanding at club level for Manchester United this season. The Red Devils have conceded fewer goals than any other team in the league – just seven across 13 games. While United’s backline must take some of the credit for this, they couldn’t have done it without Earps’ cat-like reflexes.
