“One Game At A Time…” United Manager Delivers Title Verdict After His Team Mount Dramatic Fightback

Manchester United manager Marc Skinner says his team will take things “one game at a time” after going six points clear at the top of the Women’s Super League table.

The Red Devils had to come from 2-1 down to secure a 3-2 victory over Aston Villa on Friday and, asked about the team’s title chances, Skinner replied:

“If we win our last four games that will be a wonderful, wonderful season for us but we’re taking it one game at a time. Tottenham is next week and that will be a very difficult game too.”

United do have the points on the board and, while Manchester City are second in the table, it is likely that Chelsea will be the main challengers for top spot.

Emma Hayes’ team have been in Champions League action over the past week, and it is meant that they have fallen behind in the title race, having last played in the WSL at the start of April.

The Blues are currently seven points adrift of United, but they have played three games fewer, so there is still a possibility that Skinner’s side can be overhauled at the top. It should be a fascinating end to the season.
