Manchester United defeated Brighton and Chelsea record a win over Aston Villa to set up a blockbuster FA Cup final on May 14 – here’s how the semi-finals panned out.

In the first semi-final of the weekend, on Saturday, April 15, Manchester United beat Brighton by a score of 3-2 in a certified FA Cup classic. The following day, Chelsea took on a strong Aston Villa outfit in their respective semi-final. Both teams created plenty of chances, but neither could make the breakthrough – until superstar Sam Kerr popped up in the 59th minute to score the only goal of the game.

The game between United and Chelsea will mark the first time the two teams have met in the final of the Women’s FA Cup – additionally, it will also mark the first time that the Red Devils have reached this stage of the competition. With both teams jostling for position at the top of the WSL table, it is destined to be a scintillating encounter.
