WSL and Lionesses superstar Beth Mead posted a tear-jerking photo on Mother’s Day. The photo showed her celebrating a goal for England with her mum, June Mead, who died on January 7, 2023.
This is the first Mother’s Day that Mead will spend without her beloved mum. In the post, the Arsenal icon described her mother as “my everything”.
The post’s full caption read as follows: “Happy Mother’s Day to my hero, my everything, my mama. You were one in a million, not a day goes by I don’t miss you. Keep shining bright.”

Additionally, several of Mead’s teammates, both internationally and a club level, left her a message of support. They included Rachel Daly, Jordan Nobbs and Ellie Roebuck. On top of this, Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp also left Beth a supportive message in the comments section.
Mead is currently out injured with an ACL injury. It’s unclear when she’ll return – however, the inspirational, generational superstar is remaining steadfast in her recovery.
