Arsenal and WSL star Vivianne Miedema posted an update regarding her injury on Instagram. The post also featured another Arsenal player – none other than Lionesses all-star Beth Mead.
Mead and Miedema are currently in a public relationship – it’s heartwarming to see the pair helping each other through their respective rehabilitation periods.
For the post’s caption, Miedema wrote: “Another couple of weeks of rehab done… 🥵🍛🧖♀️ 1st time on the bike. 1st time running!!! @bethmead_ 👏🏽🏃🏼♀️”
Currently, Miedema’s post has over 45,000 likes on Instagram. Among those who have liked the post include Bethany England, Carly Telford and Alessia Russo. Additionally, Noelle Maritz, Lotte Wubben-Moy and Manuela Zinsberger all left a comment of encouragement on the post.
Both Mead and Miedema suffered major injuries just over a month apart from each other. In November, Mead ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) – meanwhile, in December, Miedema suffered the exact same injury. As such, both required surgery to ensure their injuries would heal.
As such, the couple have been doing what they can to help each other in their respective journeys back to first-team football. It’s unclear when either of them will return – due to the nature of their absences , we may not see either of them again until next season.
