WSL all-star Alex Greenwood recently posted a collection of photos on Instagram – the first of which showed her alongside her boyfriend, Sheffield United defender Jack O’Connell.
Greenwood and O’Connell met each other in school – they have been in a romantic relationship with each other ever since. Despite this, they have yet to tie the knot and get married.
Also featured in Greenwood’s album are photos of her playing for the Lionesses, as well as a collection of other pictures with her alongside family and friends.
Greenwood’s post currently has over just under 25,000 likes on Instagram. Among those who have liked the piece include Laura Coombs, Millie Bright and Liverpool men’s midfielder Curtis Jones.
Additionally, several of Greenwood’s WSL contemporaries left a comment on the post, including Ellie Roebuck, Alanna Kennedy and Ellie Carpenter.
By her standards, Greenwood has had a so-so campaign in the WSL this season. She hasn’t scored any goals for Manchester City and has only registered a single assist.
O’Connell has, over the last two and a half years, been experiencing injury hell. He has not played a competitive fixture since 2020 and has undergone surgery twice to correct his knee issue, which he is still recovering from. However, with his loving partner at his side, he has had plenty of support through this difficult time.
