Chelsea quintet Lauren James, Sam Kerr, Jess Carter, Guro Reiten and captain Millie Bright have been nominated for Player of the Year at the 2024 Women’s Football Awards.

Their performances have been recognised with the Blues in contention to win four trophies in Emma Hayes’ final season in charge.

Joining the Chelsea stars are Manchester United duo Mary Earps and Nikita Parris, Arsenal pair Frida Maanum and Katie McCabe, as well as Manchester City’s Bunny Shaw.

The Women’s Football Awards take place in London on May 30th and fans can nominate their favourites by heading here.

Nominees for the Young Player of the Year

The Women’s Football Awards has also confirmed the nominations for the 2024 Young Player of the Year.

Chelsea forward Aggie Beever-Jones has deservedly been included on the 10-player list along with the likes of Manchester United’s Maya Le Tissier and Grace Clinton.

Manchester City duo Khiara Keating & Mary Fowler, Tottenham’s Jessica Naz, Bristol City’s Naomi Layzell, Aston Villa’s Laura Blindkilde-Brown and Brighton’s Elisabeth Terland make up the rest of the nominees.

Chelsea boss gets nomination for Manager of the Year

Emma Hayes will be among the favourites for the 2024 Manager of the Year. She has guided the Blues to the top of the WSL table, in addition to the Conti Cup final, FA Cup semi-final and Champions League quarter-final.

Arsenal’s Jonas Eidevall, Liverpool’s Matt Beard, Manchester United’s Marc Skinner and Manchester City’s Gareth Taylor are the other WSL managers. However, other leagues have also been recognised with Rangers’ Jo Potter, Glasgow City’s Leanne Ross, Birmingham City’s Darren Carter and Wrexham’s Steven Dale included. England’s Sarina Wiegman is, though, the likeliest to challenge Hayes’ for the Manager of the Year accolade, having guided the Lionesses to the World Cup final.
