Mary Earps

Mary Earps picked up the Golden Glove award at the end of the tournament – and rightly so, because the Manchester United ‘keeper was immense between the sticks for England.

She conceded just four goals in seven games over the course of the World Cup, keeping three clean sheets along the way. Her shot-stopping, combined with her commanding presence in the box, made her comfortably the best ‘keeper in Australia this summer.

Earps capped off her excellent tournament with a penalty save in the final against Spain – she couldn’t keep a clean sheet in that game, but England would have been far worse off without her.
