Lionesses Post Touching Tribute To Teammate’s Mother On Instagram

England women posted a moving tribute to June Mead, the mother of Beth Mead, in a post on Instagram. June sadly passed away in January 2023, but the Lionesses are keen to make sure that she is remembered fondly.

The post contained a video of Leah Williamson holding the Arnold Clark Cup – England had just won the trophy after beating Belgium by a score of 6-1. The post was captioned with: “For June.”

In the video, Williamson says: “Beth [Mead], we love you. This is for June Mead.”

The post currently has just under 23,000 likes on Instagram.

Beth Mead commented on the post, writing: “So much love for this team, mum would be so proud.”

June Mead died on January 7, 2023, following a long battle with ovarian cancer. Beth posted a tribute to her mother on Twitter back in January, saying: “Our hearts are broken, there will be a piece missing forever but heaven has now gained a special angel.

“If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever. I’m sad that you are gone, but I’m more grateful for the time we had together. Our family would appreciate some privacy during this difficult time. We love you lots, forever & always. RIP Mama.”
