Leah Williamson pulls pints and buys every Arsenal fan a drink on Champions League match day

Leah Williamson may be out injured right now, but that didn’t stop her from getting involved in the match day atmosphere ahead of the Champions League semi-final clash between Arsenal and Wolfsburg.

The England skipper was filmed pulling pints in a fan pub across the road from the Emirates Stadium, and clips have been doing the rounds on social media.

Fans enjoying a drink in the popular Tollington Arms were left stunned when the 26-year-old joined the staff behind the bar to chip in. She also bought a drink for everyone who returned after the match to thank them for their support.

Seeing the defender in high spirits and engaging with the fans would have been a very welcome sight. Williamson announced last month that she had suffered an ACL injury.

As a result, she will not feature for Arsenal again this season and she will also miss the World Cup this summer.

Arsenal knocked out of Champions League after Emirates thriller

Unfortunately for the Gooners, it was heartbreak on the pitch. Jonas Eidevall’s side crashed out of the Champions League following a 3-2 defeat.

After two nail-biting legs, Wolfsburg edged their way into the final thanks to a winner from Pauline Bremer in extra time. The former Manchester City star stopped the match from going to penalties after goals from Stina Blackstenius, Jill Roord, Alexandra Popp, and Jen Beattie locked in a thrilling stalemate.

Williamson was of course also at the match, watching on from the stands. She joined her teammates on the pitch after the final whistle to applaud the record-breaking 60,063 fans who packed out the Emirates.

Both Arsenal and Chelsea were eliminated from the Champions League, setting up a final between Barcelona and Wolfsburg.

The European run may be over for Arsenal, but they still have a top three spot to fight for in the Women’s Super League. Next up is Leicester City, who recently clawed their way out of the relegation zone after a huge 4-0 win over Liverpool.
