WSL Weekend Preview

WSL Weekend Preview

We’re gearing up for another stacked weekend of WSL games, including Aston Villa vs Manchester United and Tottenham vs Brighton – which games will you be watching?

In the first game of the weekend, which will take place on Friday evening, league leaders Manchester United square off against dark horses Aston Villa. United will need to be on top of their game to avoid a slip-up here – Villa are no pushovers. Additionally, the Villans will be out for revenge, after United beat them by a score of 5-0 earlier in the season.

Bottom club Leicester will be looking to pick up all the points they can get as the season draws to a close – a win over Liverpool would be massive in their quest for WSL survival. The Reds won’t make it easy for them – they defeated fellow relegation candidates Brighton in their last league game.

Tottenham Hotspur are a club in crisis – however, they could steady the ship somewhat with a win over Brighton at the weekend. They have managed to stop the rot in recent weeks, after going on a lengthy losing streak – can they pick up a victory over the relegation-threatened Seagulls?

In the final match of the gameweek, title challengers Manchester City will take on Reading. City are three points behind bitter rivals Manchester United, who are in the top spot – beating the Royals is a necessity if they want to remain in contention for the WSL crown.
